(CCM) Frank Turner is bringing the ninth installment of his award-winning festival Lost Evenings to Dallas, Texas, taking place from September 24-27 at the South Side Ballroom.
And now an incredible supporting bill for the main stage can be unveiled as well as the different headline sets from Frank. The opening night Frank and The Sleeping Souls delve into the First Ten Years, performing songs from the albums Sleep Is For The Week through to Tape Deck Heart. In support are Pennsylvanian punk-rock five-piece The Menzingers; Florida punk rockers Hot Water Music; and Lost Evenings stalwarts Koo Koo. Friday night will be the solo acoustic night celebrating 20 years of debut EP Campfire Punkrock and the early solo years with support from American singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ben Kweller; Long Island singer Laura Stevenson; and friend Beans On Toast.
On Saturday, Frank is re-joined by The Sleeping Souls with a Next Ten Years set with songs from Positive Songs For Negative People to Undefeated. The bill includes influential emo rockers The Get Up Kids; Texan country punks Vandoliers and political punks The Iron Roses.
And finally, on Sunday night, Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls will close the festival with a Greatest Hits set with Texan alternative rock legends ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead; Oregon's finest Larry And His Flask and rock and roll musician Emily Wolfe. It's a truly huge line-up for what will be a really great festival. Frank explains more:
"Getting the line-up right for Lost Evenings each year is always a challenge and a joy. I feel like we've risen to it and surpassed ourselves this year. I'm beyond excited to welcome old friends (The Menzingers, Hot Water Music, Beans On Toast, Larry & His Flask) and new (Ben Kweller, Laura Stevenson), musical legends (The Get Up Kids, ...Trail Of Dead, Iron Roses) and thrilling new-comers (Vandoliers, Emily Wolfe). And of course my best buddies Koo Koo will be MCing the whole event as well as opening the main stage, as has now become tradition. There's loads more to come. See you in Dallas!"
Still to be announced is the full line-up for the Nick Alexander Stage featuring the best emerging acts - personally selected by Frank. And the full programme of additional activities under the banner of 'Last Minutes'. These will include pop-ups, open mic sessions, panels, masterclasses and workshops as well as the annual Needles Flickering tattoo flash.
This year, a portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go directly to The Ally Coalition, a non-profit organisation that uses the power of music to support LGBTQ Youth. The Ally Coalition are a big part of the festival and have been since 2019 in Boston, doing vital fundraising and activism throughout the event.
The success of Frank Turner's Lost Evenings Festival has been built steadily since 2017 as the festival continues to cement its reputation as an event with community and camaraderie at its core. The first two years were held at London's Roundhouse and surrounding Camden venues, before its international debut at Boston's House Of Blues in 2019. 2020's event was due to take place in Berlin but was unfortunately cancelled due to the pandemic. It returned in 2021 to the Roundhouse in London, and finally made it to Berlin Columbiahalle the year after. The festival then headed across the Atlantic to sold out shows in House Of Blues, Anaheim for 2023, its biggest ever event at Toronto's Casino Resort in 2024 and then this year in the beautiful city of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Each year has sold out in advance with crowds packing out all the daytime satellite events, each stage from start to finish and of course coming together each evening to share and rejoice in 4 very different performances from Frank.
