(fcc) BTS announced 'BTS THE CITY ARIRANG LAS VEGAS' and 'BTS THE CITY ARIRANG BUSAN' (hereafter 'THE CITY LAS VEGAS' and 'THE CITY BUSAN').
'THE CITY LAS VEGAS' will run in Las Vegas, Nevada from May 20 to May 31, followed by 'THE CITY BUSAN,' which will take place from June 5 to June 21. The project will showcase a range of immersive experiences that combine the music and story of BTS's fifth studio album ARIRANG with each city's iconic landmarks. Through their larger-than-life initiative, BTS seeks to turn the cities into vibrant cultural stages.
Building on the success of 'THE CITY LAS VEGAS' in 2022, this year's edition unfolds on an even larger scale. Landmark locations across Las Vegas will be activated, with The Strip and digital marquees illuminated in the album's signature red theme and welcome messages.'THE CITY LAS VEGAS' will also include themed hotel experiences, food and beverage offerings, and exclusive after-party events.
Following the U.S. edition, 'THE CITY BUSAN' will continue the experience in Korea, offering a variety of entertainment programs. Detailed schedules and programming will be announced at a later date via BTS' official channel on the global fan platform Weverse.
'THE CITY' project is an urban concert playground that expands the fan experience beyond the venue itself, offering city-wide attractions and immersive events that bring the group's world into everyday spaces.
The announcement came on the heels of BTS' short documentary series 'KEEP SWIMMING with BTS', which brings to life the message of 'moving forward' from their lead single "SWIM" from ARIRANG. In a world where flashy achievements often dominate attention, the campaign shifts focus to the importance of everyday consistency and the unseen effort behind outcomes. Rather than celebrating only moments of success, it highlights perseverance built quietly through repetition and dedication.
The series, which began on April 7, features a diverse range of individuals reflecting on their own "KEEP SWIMMING" moments, including cinema auteur Park Chan-wook, fashion designer Nora Noh, Olympic gold medalist snowboarder Choi Gaon, and Venerable Sunjae, with more participants to be revealed on BTS' official social media channels.
In his segment, Park Chan-wook emphasizes the importance of communication, saying, "Rather than struggling alone, I constantly talk to people and ask questions." He adds that this ongoing process of asking and listening reflects his creative approach, noting, "Conversation is always the best shortcut to good judgment."
Recently, BTS made history once again, with their lead single "SWIM" debuting at No.1 on Billboard Hot 100, while the album ARIRANG itself topped the Billboard 200 immediately upon release.
Through 'KEEP SWIMMING with BTS' and 'THE CITY' project, BTS presents a highly innovative approach to bringing the world of their music and narrative to life across cities worldwide, creating a global movement that celebrates diversity and connects cultures, regions and generations.
