(Columbia) The Chainsmokers reunite with Swedish singer-songwriter Oaks, also known as Winona Oak, on their new single "Echo" - the duo's first collaboration since their massive 2018 hit "Hope."
Alex Pall and Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers shared, "This release truly feels like a release. After 14 years of making dance music together, we've watched trends rise and fall but staying connected to the feeling that started it all is the real challenge. This record brought that back for us.
"There's a nostalgia in it that reminds me of falling in love with dance music for the first time. The euphoria of those early discoveries, those formative nights that felt like the beginning of everything.
"Reconnecting with Winona Oak made it even more special. There's a natural chemistry there that picked up right where we left off, and you can feel that emotion in the record. This one just hits different for us, and we couldn't be more excited to finally share it."
"It feels beautiful and full circle working with The Chainsmokers again after our collaboration eight years ago on "Hope." This song captures that overwhelming moment of falling - when everything feels electric and there's no way to escape the feeling, no matter how hard you try. Being part of this song means a lot to me; it's one of those rare records that just feels truly special," said Oaks.
The single comes fresh off of the duo's widely anticipated collaboration with John Summit on "All The Time." The Chainsmokers recently announced an extension of their Las Vegas residency through 2029, and are set to be performing at EDC Las Vegas. They will soon headline Ultra New Zealand, and Ultra Australia as well as Lollapalooza later this summer. "Echo" is out everywhere today.
