(Warner) Bea (formerly known as Bea and her Business) continues her new chapter with latest track "Never Know Love." She first introduced this evolving era with recent single, "Can't Help Falling Out Of Love."
Both tracks showcase her two greatest strengths - towering vocal elegance and relatable, confessional lyricism but now redefined through timeless, high-drama ballads and a confident new approach to her artistry.
Lyrically "Never Know Love" explores the self-doubt of a young woman navigating body confidence issues and the complexities of early adulthood. With "Never Know Love,", Bea demonstrates a new level of vulnerability, laying her emotions bare in every line and set against an intimate production with little more than a piano melody, percussion and emotive strings.
What "Never Know Love" ultimately delivers is the power of music. For Bea, writing the song has provided a sense of healing that may have otherwise eluded her. And for listeners who have or are going through similar experiences, it provides comforting support.
Of the song, Bea says "This song is about the burden that past relationships can put onto your perception of what love really is. How bad experiences create a warped reality and make you terrified to explore what could actually be a really magical thing. It explores power imbalances, rejection and the feeling of not knowing if you'll be worth more than a one-night stand. To anyone. Ever? I wrote this song at 18 years old, which breaks my heart that little bit more."
The 'Never Know Love' visual matches the vulnerability and the emotional outpouring of the song. Shot in stark black-and-white, it puts a sharp focus on Bea's performance, sat alone at the piano.
