(Nettwerk) Texas duo MISSIO are thrilled to announce their new album Love & Heartbreak out July 3rd via Nettwerk. The 14 tracks dive headfirst into the fragile, exhilarating and painful experience of human connections, love, & heartbreak all while melding gritty alt-rock, pulsating electronic textures and cinematic atmosphere. To celebrate, the band have dropped their new single "Bleed," a seductive track that captures the overwhelming desire felt in a new relationship.
"Loving someone can be one of the greatest gifts and privileges that we get to experience as human beings. It takes an immense amount of courage, strength, surrender, and selflessness to open your heart to another. However, with true vulnerability there is always potential to have your heart broken, and that's where the risk comes in. 'Will I allow my own fear of getting my heart broken to stop me from experiencing something potentially magnificent? Or, will I allow myself to face these fears with the possibility of being hurt?' Love & Heartbreak explores the emotional weight of both love and heartbreak, a tale as old as time for humanity," states MISSIO.
MISSIO adds about "Bleed," "When two people fall in love, it can feel intoxicating, exhilarating, sexual and (at times) even obsessive. There are several moments throughout a relationship where all you want to do is surround yourself in the energy of that other person, and it feels compulsive in nature. 'Bleed' describes that overwhelming intoxication and sexual desire to experience one another for the first time when you're first realizing that you're in love and desire connection in an intimate way."
MISSIO - Matthew Brue and David Butler - have spent the last decade carving out a singular lane within modern alternative music. Blending elements of rock, electronic, indie, and hip-hop into a sound that refuses to sit comfortably within one genre, the pair channel raw emotion through hypnotic production and unfiltered lyricism. Since emerging in 2015, MISSIO have amassed over 1 billion streams and earned two Gold-certified singles with "Everybody Gets High" and "Twisted," while building a fiercely devoted global audience. Their catalog-including Loner (2017), The Darker the Weather // The Better the Man (2019), Can You Feel The Sun (2020), VILLAIN (2022), -has continually pushed their sound into darker, more expansive territory. Following their ambitious Cinco EP series and the album I Am Cinco, the band now enters a bold new era with Love & Heartbreak, a record that finds MISSIO at their most emotionally revealing and sonically adventurous yet.
