() Yot Club the multi-platinum indie-pop brainchild of LA-based Ryan Kaiser, releases sonically compelling new single "Here & Now" via Amuse. The track weaves early math-leaning instincts, like an unexpected shift to ¾ time, into a more stripped-back and focused framework, blending technical experimentation with newly embraced simplicity.
This is the second offering from his upcoming album Simpleton, set to release on April 17. His 25-date North American headline tour, with stops in major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and more is currently on sale.
After its original demo was stranded on a lost laptop, "Here & Now" was rebuilt from the ground up, turning an initial setback into an opportunity for clarity and refinement. Written in collaboration with Kevin Patrick Sullivan from Field Medic, the song found its focus through a shared thematic lens, transforming early uncertainty into confidence. The result is a carefully refined track that balances instinctive energy with thoughtful restraint, rewarding repeat listeners with its nuanced layers.
"Here & Now is a song I wrote with Kevin from Field Medic over at his place. It's a song about being overwhelmed and disassociated, which is kind of a tough thing to write about," Kaiser explains. "I originally wanted this record to be kind of mathy - with tempo and key changes throughout. It wasn't until later I decided to lean into the simple ideas I used to avoid."
