Stephen Wilson Jr. Wins His First ACM Award With 'Cuckoo' Video

(MPG) Today, the Academy of Country Music announced Stephen Wilson Jr. has won his first ACM Award for Visual Media of the Year for his official video for "Cuckoo" that he co-directed with his longtime creative collaborator Tim Cofield. Wilson Jr. was surprised with the award by ACM Head of Artist Relations Haley Montgomery at WXPN's NON-COMMvention on Wednesday, May 6.

Wilson Jr.'s latest single "Gary" marks his first single at Country Radio, and it just broke the top 40 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart at #38. He premiered the song with an electrifying performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and also performed it on appearances on This Past Weekend with Theo Von and The Howard Stern Show. The official video marks his ninth collaboration with Cofield and stars award-winning actor Gary Sinise (Forrest Gump, Apollo 13).

Wilson Jr. recently wrapped the entirely sold-out first leg of his Gary The Torch Tour and announced a second leg that added West Coast, Southeast and EU/UK dates. In between headline dates, he will support Dave Matthews Band on September 4 at the Gorge Amphitheater and Brandi Carlile on September 11-13 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
