(117 Entertainment) David Nail is saying "Fare Thee Well" in his latest release. Written by Nail with Trent Dabbs and producer Anderson East, the song tells the story of a man leaving behind a relationship in Alabama, recognizing that staying would only continue to hurt the person he cares about most.
"This was the first time Anderson and I added a third writer, and Trent came in with the vibe. I can't even remember how we got on the title/idea, but I remember immediately thinking, 'this is something my father would've listened to when I was a kid!' It had immediate nostalgia, and the melody is so easy on the ears," said David Nail.
With this release, Nail taps into a deep emotional vulnerability, continuing to deliver the kind of storytelling that has become a signature of his artistry, authentic, heartfelt, and unmistakably his own.
So it's goodbye, Alabama
I guess only time will tell
I've had all that I can manage
Fare thee well
