
(Atlantic) Cameron Whitcomb keeps moving forward with today's premiere of his latest single, "Kingdom of Fear," available now via Atlantic Outpost. An official lyric video is streaming now. The high-energy, hard-driving track heralds Whitcomb's upcoming new EP, Deep Water, arriving everywhere on Friday, April 17.
"Seems like lately I've fallen back in love with songwriting. It's like having sex with your ex," shares Cameron. "Something familiar, comfortable, but also refreshing about it. It's been an incredible time getting to put these ideas that've been banging around in my head on paper."
"Kingdom of Fear" follows the release of his latest single, "You and Me". Hailed by Billboard as "an emotional, heartfelt folk-rock song characterized by his soft, weathered vocals and a stomp-clap rhythm," the track - which sees Whitcomb teaming once again with producer Jack Riley (Knox, Grace VanderWaal) and his frequent songwriting collaborators Cal Shapiro (Alex Warren, Timeflies) and Nolan Sipe (Benson Boone, Alex Warren) - proved Whitcomb's career third-highest Spotify debut thus far having already become a fan favorite thanks to recent live performances while travelling North America alongside HARDY as special guest on his epic THE COUNTRY! COUNTRY! TOUR!. What's more, "You and Me" continued Whitcomb's home country hot streak by instantly debuting on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100.
This weekend will see Whitcomb among the top stars performing at Canada's 55th Annual JUNO Awards, set for Hamilton, ON's TD Coliseum on Sunday, March 29. The Nanaimo, BC-born artist makes his JUNO Awards debut with five total nominations, propelling him into top categories alongside some of his home country's most established names including Justin Bieber, Tate McRae, and The Weeknd. The nods - which follow his two recent wins at the Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA) - include "TD JUNO Fan Choice," "Single of the Year Presented by Sunrise Records," "Album of the Year Presented by Music Canada," "Breakthrough Artist or Group of the Year Presented by FACTOR, the Government of Canada and Canada's Private Radio Broadcasters," and "Country Album of the Year."
Whitcomb's busy schedule also includes taking centerstage on his Fragile Egos Tour, a new run of US headline shows produced by Live Nation resuming April 1 with a SOLD-OUT show at Boston, MA's Citizens House of Blues Boston. Additional tour highlights include SOLD-OUT stops at such notable venues as New York City's historic Irving Plaza (April 4), Charlottesville, VA's The Jefferson Theatre (April 8), Detroit, MI's Saint Andrew's Hall (May 30), and Cleveland, OH's House of Blues (June 2).
