(Brooklyn Basement) Belfast-born singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Gareth Dunlop is introducing a new side project, Dunsun, with the release of its debut single, "When The Devil Gets His Way," out via Moraine Music Group.
A more stripped-back, Americana-leaning outlet for Dunlop's songwriting, Dunsun offers a rawer, more understated counterpart to the broader scope of his solo work. The project's first single, "When The Devil Gets His Way," was co-written with country artist Johnny Reid and is set to appear on March 24 in Marshals, CBS's new Yellowstone spin-off.
With "When The Devil Gets His Way," Dunsun arrives as a compelling new chapter for Dunlop: intimate, unvarnished, and built to let the song speak for itself.
Dunlop has long earned praise for a voice that feels both soulful and immediately recognizable. He has built an acclaimed career as a singer-songwriter while also becoming an in-demand producer and collaborator. His latest LP, Welcome to The House of I Don't Know, has been praised as an ambitious and timeless work: cinematic in scale, yet deeply personal and intimate.
Beyond his own artist work, Dunlop's credits stretch across genres and media. As a producer and songwriter, he has worked with a wide range of artists, including producing Foy Vance's Signs of Life and writing songs recorded by artists ranging from T.I. to Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. His music has also been featured extensively across film, television, and advertising, with placements in Suits, Nashville, Lucifer, Found, Fire Country, House, and Safe Haven, as well as campaigns for brands including Subaru, Disney, and Chevrolet.
As a touring artist, Dunlop has shared stages with Bonnie Raitt, Snow Patrol, Van Morrison, and Stereophonics, among others. He continues to perform both solo and with his band, and is currently at work on new music to release in 2026..
