(hennemusic) Megadeth are streaming video of their debut performance of the 1984 Metallica classic, "Ride The Lightning." Megadeth delivered the song's during a pair of headlining concerts this past week at Movistar Arena in Bogota, Colombia.
Originally released as the title track to Metallica's second studio set and co-written by the band and former member Dave Mustaine, the Megadeth founder recorded the track for his group's 2026 self-titled and final album.
Upon its release, "Megadeth" entered the US Billboard 200 chart after opening week sales of 73,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Jan. 29, according to Lumin; the bulk of that sum were pure album sales (purchases of physical and digital copies of the album), totaling 69,000.
The album - which also debuted at No. 1 on Top Album Sales - was co-produced by Mustaine and Chris Rakestraw and marks the follow-up to 2022's "The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead!"
