Elton John Getting All-Star Remixes For RSD And Digital Release

Elton John - The Remixes LP is set be released in physical format for this year's Record Store Day (April 18th, 2026) at participating retailers and it was just announced that a digital version of the record will be available exclusively on Beatport beginning April 19th. Pre-order here.

UMe shared these details: From his days at legendary 70's New York nightclub Studio 54, through to his recent remix output and support for new electronic artists on his Rocket Hour radio show, Elton John has a long-standing and deeply rooted connection to club culture and dance music. Personally curated by Elton himself, The Remixes reflects this, spotlighting some of the most impactful reworks from his extraordinary catalog. Spanning euphoric disco, modern house, and underground anthems, the collection bridges generations of dance floors while reaffirming Elton's status as a true crossover pioneer.

Pressed on heavyweight 180g glow-in-the-dark vinyl and housed in Positiva's instantly recognisable artwork sleeve, the LP features five remix tracks appearing on vinyl for the first time: 'Cold Heart - The Blessed Madonna Extended Mix', 'Hold Me Closer - Purple Disco Machine Extended Mix', 'Sad - The 2 Bears Remix Edit', 'Cold Heart - Claptone Remix' and 'Rocket Man - KDME Remix'.

Alongside these exclusive vinyl firsts, the album includes three hard-to-find remixes previously unavailable on streaming platforms, making it a must-have release for collectors and dance music fans alike. This special edition pays tribute not only to Elton John's lasting influence on global dance culture but also to Positiva Records' 30-year legacy as one of the UK's most influential dance labels, responsible for shaping club, chart, and crossover moments across generations.

Each remix reimagines Elton's timeless songwriting through a club-focused lens. Purple Disco Machine's extended cut delivers glossy, high-energy feel-good disco house; The Blessed Madonna injects a euphoric lift; Claptone brings his signature hypnotic, melodic house touch; while KDME and The 2 Bears lean into deeper, underground textures.

Elton comments: 'Record Store Day is incredibly important to me, and with this package I really think we've made something special for dance music fans. I first got into dance music in '70s New York through disco and those early days at clubs like Le Jardin and Studio 54. It's been a huge part of my life ever since. As a genre, it's so progressive, and it's always evolving and pushing boundaries, and it's never far from the mainstream. God knows how many 12" dance records I've bought over the years, and I get sent so many great dance and electronic records that I get to champion on my Rocket Hour radio show. Positiva is such an iconic label, and I'm thrilled they will be releasing this collection of my favourite remixes from over the years.'
