Austin, TX singer/songwriter Sarah Sharp recently shared her rendition of the Bob Dylan classic "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" from her upcoming album 'Deja Vu', (out May 15th). To celebrate we asked her to tell us about the song. Here is the story:
I marvel at the depth of experience Bob Dylan must have had to write a song as soulful and profound as "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" at the age of... 21? Where does that come from? It's so personal and detailed, and yet, universal, and is it really all inspired by one relationship?
I feel this song deeply after decades of longing, love, loss, and having good intentions throughout endless lessons. There's surrender here to the point of grace.
For me, certain verses conjure specific people who have been the most deeply and fiercely part of my soul's maturing. We learn from each other because of each other, and then, when the only choice is to let go, sometimes all that is left to say is "fare thee well". Our version of this incredible song is my way of honoring those lessons.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen and watch for yourself below and learn more here
