Sorann, a multi-instrumentalist and R&B artist from Saint-Saulve, France, recently released his new single "Tell Me Love" from his "Wistful" EP and to celebrate we asked him to tell us about the track. Here is the story:
"Tell Me Love" is about the agonising space between a relationship ending emotionally and ending officially. I wrote the first verse from a place of painful realisation-that moment when you know the other person doesn't want to fight for it anymore. You can feel them pulling away; they are physically in the room, but emotionally long gone. I had let myself believe in the love we shared, but I started to realise it might have just been a mask, a disguise covering up resentment that was growing underneath. When I sing, "I'm lost in words you never said," it's about the heavy weight of having no closure. No clear explanation. No real honesty. Just a silence that ends up being louder than any argument.
The chorus is the breaking point. It isn't driven by anger; it's pure desperation. It's that vulnerable moment where you just want the other person to admit if any of it was ever real. I was hurting, but what hurt even more was the terrifying thought that I might have been the only one who truly cared.
What makes this track complete is Reiko's part in the second verse, because it flips the narrative to the other person's perspective. She comes in and shows how emotionally drained the other side feels. To her, the attachment had become overwhelming and suffocating. When she sings, "When you say you love me more, I'd rather see you out the door," it reveals the most painful truth of the song: the love was completely unbalanced. The more I held on, the more she wanted out. "Tell Me Love" captures that exact moment right before the final goodbye-when one person is still desperately asking for answers, and the other is already stepping away.
