Don McLean 'Classics' album has been certified Gold by the RIAA. 2911 Media shared these details, released in 1992 by Curb Records, the 10-song compilation featuring some of his biggest hits from the 1970s, including "American Pie," "Vincent, " "Crying," and "And I Love You So," as well as a new recording of "American Pie."
The album project showcases McLean's distinctive voice and heartfelt songwriting offering a mix of folk rock, singer-songwriter, and rock classics.
"What an honor! To be back in Nashville, where I once recorded several albums with Larry Butler is always fun, but to be presented with a Gold album from Mike Curb and the great people of Curb Records is even more special," says Don McLean. "I am consistently surprised to learn how many new people are learning about my songs. This digital streaming era has really given new life to so many older recordings. I just love it!"
