Dallas-based country artist Erin Duvall just released her new single "Back To Me" and to celebrate we asked her to tell us about the track. Here is the story:
"Back to Me" is a return. Not to who I was years ago, but to the truest, most grounded version of myself. After nearly a decade of raising four children on my own, rebuilding piece by piece, and learning how to stand fully in my own decisions, I reached a place where I wasn't chasing escape anymore. I wasn't trying to prove anything. I wasn't reacting to the past. I finally felt rooted in the life I built. This song came from that quiet, powerful realization.
The lyric "I'm stronger, wilder, braver than I used to be" really anchors the heart of the song. Strength doesn't feel loud to me anymore, it feels calm. It feels like peace in your own home. It feels like trusting your own voice without needing outside validation. When we sat down to write it, I knew I didn't want it to sound like survival. My last chapter of music lived in that space. This one needed to sound like an arrival. It's about recognizing that even in the broken pieces, even in the detours, something beautiful is forming. You may not be fully "there" yet, but you're closer than you've ever been and that matters.
Writing this song with Brian White and Pete Sallis was incredibly meaningful. There was no urgency in the room, no emotional chaos to untangle. Instead, there was clarity. We leaned into simplicity and honesty. Sometimes the most powerful message is the most direct one, coming home to yourself is enough. They helped me trust that the strength of the song lived in its steadiness.
Recording at Saxman Studios in Nashville brought the song to life in a way I'll never forget. The musicians were incredibly talented, seasoned, intuitive, and able to feel the emotion behind every lyric. There's something special about recording in Nashville, surrounded by players who have lived inside great songs for decades. The track took on this grounded, soulful energy that felt authentic to my roots: country, blues, gospel, rock 'n' rol...all woven together.
Working in the studio with Brian White and Jason Sever while cutting vocals was equally powerful. There's a vulnerability that happens when you step up to the mic with a song this personal. They created a space that felt safe and focused, where I could deliver the vocal from a place of truth rather than force. You can hear the calm confidence in it, it's not over-sung or over-performed. It's steady. It's intentional. It's me standing exactly where I'm meant to stand.
"Back to Me" is deeply personal, but I hope it resonates universally. It's for anyone who has walked through hard seasons and come out refined instead of hardened. It's for the person who is still finding their footing but can feel their strength growing. It's about understanding that you were never really lost but instead you were becoming. And sometimes, coming back to yourself is the greatest arrival of all.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen and watch for yourself below and learn more here
