Sydney Rose has just released her brand new single and music video entitled "The Holiday", which marks the Georgia-born and Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist's very first Christmas song release.
Mercury Records sent over these details about the track: With "The Holiday," Sydney reflects upon the season in her own way. Over softly creaking chords, she paints a picture of returning home and into the tense embrace of old memories. Gentle horns underscore her delivery, and she announces, "I'm coming home for the holiday, I haven't changed. I just stayed the same. I miss you. I do."
Nervous about running into an ex out shopping, she admits, "I'm afraid that I don't like December." It's a relatable portrait of what it's like to not really want to go home for the holidays, and it's also indicative of her unique and uncanny perspective as an emotionally acute Gen-Z songstress.
